We arrived dressed in our finest to the amazing City Central at HAC. The red carpet celebrity photography commenced, followed by dinner and the Awards, hosted by Caroline Flack (host of Love Island (and previously The X Factor and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!)
Along with Beauty Magazine and the ASOS team, they were joined by almost 1000 other execs, celebs, and influencers, all there to celebrate the world of beauty.
The glitzy awards ceremony celebrated the latest and greatest products in UK beauty retail and to win so early in the evening really made it a night to remember.
The Beauty Awards™ brings together beauty manufacturers, consumers and retailers. All products entered are tried and tested by a panel of industry experts; their findings determine the Shortlist. The Shortlist is showcased in October to November to the UK consumer, the beauty industry and beauty retailers. Over 250,000 votes were cast this year to decide the winners.
As an optician, James came across Eye Care Cosmetics over 20 years ago as the range is designed for those with sensitive eyes, skin or blepharitis. The entire range excludes known irritants such as nickel, chrome and parabens and prepares the remaining ingredients in a special way to reduce the risk of a reaction and boost the skin’s natural defences.
Michelle a pharmacist, knows from customer feedback and her own personal experience of sensitive skin that switching to irritant-free cosmetics and skincare benefits many women who struggle to wear make-up.
Our prescription diving masks are still proving popular since the summer holidays. Starting from £52.50, they are an affordable way to enjoy snorkelling or scuba diving.
Excitement was mounting as The Red Carpet opened at the biggest beauty event of the year, The Beauty Awards 2019 with ASOS.
James and Michelle Sutton from Eye Care Cosmetics were lucky to have not one but TWO cosmetics competing in the final and even luckier to win the New Eye Innovation Award 2019 for their Waterproof Eyeliner.
So you've been wearing lenses for a while and possibly getting a bit complacent.....here's a reminder from our optician of what not to do! To really look after your eye health, it is really important to read his advice and follow it to the letter.
Now is the time to check if your prescription goggles have survived the winter at the bottom of your swim bag, or if you can still see clearly through the lenses. With summer on its way, you may want to think about changing from clear to tinted or even mirrored lenses.
As an optometrist and regular swimmer, I enjoy sourcing a wide range of goggles and masks to help you see well in the pool, sea or spa.”
