Is it safe to swim in contact lenses?

Monday, November 26th, 2012

If you wear glasses or contact lenses, of course we are going to say that the best thing to use in a swimming pool is a pair of prescription swimming goggles. But is this really necessary? Aren’t contact lenses just as good?

In recent months there have been several reports about serious eye infections attributed to wearing contact lenses while swimming (e.g. Daily Mail).

Welcome to the world of prescription swimming goggles

Tuesday, October 30th, 2012

Hello!

Welcome to our first blog at prescription swimming goggles. We are a family run business that was founded in 2004 and incorporated in 2006. We are owned by the founders, James and Michelle Sutton and have 4 ladies working here, Tracy, Aimee, Julie and Suzanne. We started life in James and Michelle’s front room of their home before we realised we had a good idea that was really taking off and needed more space to hold stock, and some staff!

We moved over the road to an office until we could no longer keep our ever growing stock in the house and after a couple of years we moved to a small shop where we could stock most of our goggles and the other products we specialise in. Please visit www.natorigin.co.uk and www.butterflies-eyecare.co.uk to find out more.  After spending three years happily growing there, we have made the big leap to bigger premises in September this year. We are now nestled in the idyllic Cotswold countryside in a converted barn in the hamlet of Warkworth, Oxfordshire.
